Jose Neve
CEO and co-chair, Farfetch
Luxury etailer Farfetch has spent the last year pushing the boundaries. It has trialled several initiatives, including launching a pilot resale programme for designer handbags in May. It also partnered with second-hand clothes donation service Thrift+ in October to give customers access to a free collection service for unwanted items in exchange for credit to use on the Farfetch site.
Meanwhile, its Black & White Solutions ecommerce service has continued to attract some of the biggest names in retail. Luxury retailer Harrods announced that it was working with Farfetch on its new global ecommerce platform, due to be unveiled next year. The luxury department store will use core components of Farfetch Black & White Solutions, including ecommerce management and support for operations and international logistics.
Farfetch completed its acquisition of New Guards Group, which owns streetwear brand Off-White, this year. Neves has also been busy strengthening his management team. He appointed his first chief data officer, Kshitij Kumar, who joined from the same role at Zalando, in June. Browns CEO Holli Rogers took on the newly created role of chief brand officer the same month.
