PV Paris: your one-stop sourcing destination

Première Vision Paris is the must-attend event for the global textile industry – the home of trends committed to more sustainable fashion. Here is a preview of the next edition.

Première Vision Paris

If you are looking for inspiration for your autumn/winter 25/26 collections, you will find everything – and everyone – you need at the world’s destination event for fashion sourcing, Première Vision Paris.

The next edition will take place on 2-4 July 2024 at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre.

Known by many as simply PV, the twice-yearly event is an essential cog within the global fashion industry for anyone sourcing for new collections.

Over the last 50 years, the exhibition has evolved to become a one-stop-shop trade show for all things textiles and trends, where fashion professionals seek inspiration, and source yarns, fabrics, leathers, pattern designs, manufacturing solutions, accessories and components for future ready-to-wear, accessories (jewellery and leather goods) and footwear collections.

More recently, PV has been focused on driving the fashion industry towards more sustainable choices, and its comprehensive offering is now complemented by several initiatives with this aim, including “Deadstocks” (where surplus textiles are shown and resold) and “Smart Creation” (which focuses on exhibiting industry-leading innovation and new technologies in textiles).

“Through its services to professionals, PV supports the development of the fashion sector on a global scale in terms of the creation of collections, environmental and social transformation, and innovation, and more broadly in terms of the challenges facing the entire industry,” says Florence Rousson, who was appointed as president of the Première Vision board in February 2024. “As the new president of the Première Vision supervisory board, I am determined to contribute to the development of this sector and to help all players grow – particularly given the new social and environmental demands.”

This season visitors will discover the autumn/winter 25/26 collections from more than 920 international exhibitors from more than 40 countries, including France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Japan, UK, Belgium, South Korea, Turkey and China. These include spinners, weavers, tanners, designers, accessories manufacturers and garment makers.

As well as the exhibition, PV also brings together extensive fashion and trend information for the new season, covering everything from trend forums through to talks, seminars and workshops. The event now also offers a “Matchmaking” programme, which launched at its last edition in February 2024. This helped to foster collaboration opportunities between exhibitors and brands by organising nearly 600 meetings.

Despite having taken place for five decades, one of the most important elements of Première Vision Paris is that it consistently launches new and relevant programmes to support the fashion industry. Launched in July 2023, “A Better Way” is an area of the exhibition that highlights and promotes international exhibitors’ efforts and investments in more responsible fashion. Now a part of all Première Vision shows, it reflects an understanding of the challenges facing textile, clothing and leather sectors, as well as the wider fashion industry.

In response to growing concerns about the environmental and social impact of garment production, this initiative focuses on bringing greater visibility to innovation within the space. Exhibitors in this section of PV are selected using five criteria: social initiatives; impact of production sites; traceability; composition of products and processes; product lifecycle and end of life.

Similarly, “Deadstocks” was first introduced at PV in February 2024. This area showcases materials unused by fashion houses – known as deadstock material. It will return for the July event, led by deadstock experts Adapta and Nona Source. In addition, there will be a special area dedicated specifically to PV exhibitors’ deadstocks.

PV believes that access to deadstock is a necessity for many small brands. Emerging designers produce in small quantities and sometimes find it difficult to reach the minimum volumes required by manufacturers. Deadstocks meet a real market demand – for small brands – but also from a sustainable point of view.

PV continues to evolve to meet and exceed the demands of the global fashion and textile industry – and you will find a plethora of sourcing solutions at the show in Paris this July.
