A decade ago, many people would have struggled to name a list of globally successful Scandinavian fashion brands. But today, shoppers have well and truly fallen for Scandi style.
The region – including the countries of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden – now has a community of influential labels that are driving fashion trends and leading retail innovation, with several brands turning this surge of international interest into booming businesses.
For example, womenswear brand Ganni has grown to own 50 stores worldwide, including 13 in its native Denmark, three in the UK and 17 across America.
But the fashion phenomenon that is Scandi style is not just about pretty dresses, quirky accessories, and colourful prints.
These smart businesses have built brands that dominate leading wholesale stockists around the world; have opened networks of physical stores overseas; and have built influential online followings and thriving digital platforms.
For this Drapers Connects webinar, we were joined by Denmark’s Ganni, Norway’s Holzweiler and Sweden’s Stand Studio to discuss how to navigate growth, optimise success and build brands with longievity beyond trends.
