Now in its 14th year, Drapers 30 Under 30 celebrates the rising stars of fashion retail powering the industry forward. Those on the 2023 list stood out among their peers, achieving great things and making brave moves despite a shifting landscape.
It is no doubt a challenging moment to be pursuing a career in fashion, as it faces unprecedented challenges – the fall-out from Covid and Brexit, changing consumer behaviour and the shift from bricks and mortar to online, the bite of inflation and an ever-deepening cost of living crisis – but an industry going through rapid change needs the fresh ideas and bold thinking of innovative young people.
For those intrepid enough to take them, there are new opportunities in technology, social media, data, resale and rental. Sustainability has never been more salient as the world grapples with the climate crisis: here, young people can lead the way. The core of fashion retail remains vital in this moment of flux, with stores, the shopping experience and great product still a driving force for business.
